County Commissioner, Jessica Vega Peterson, will be the speaker at the 12:00 PM, February 3, First Thursday Zoom Meeting of the Interfaith Alliance on Poverty.
She will discuss Multnomah County’s Early Childhood Education Program, and the interrelationship between education and poverty.
Most experts agree that a strong education–especially at the pre-school and early primary levels–is the most critical factor in eliminating generational poverty. Multnomah County is taking an important step on this issue, and Commissioner Vega is taking the executive lead, so the Alliance will be getting a privileged, inside look at the program’s roll-out.
