Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent—a time of reflection, prayer, and preparation for Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection. It is a day of solemn assembly that is built right into the church year. It is a fast day, a day of mourning for our sin and the sin of all humanity before God, a recognition of our mortality save for the grace of God and a request that the Lord remember our creation and breathe new life into our burned-out, dusty lives once more. (from pcusa.org)
Our theme is “Full to the Brim” and will take us on a journey to find what it means to live a full life with God. Join us for Ash Wednesday Service (Wed March 2, 7pm, in the Sanctuary and on Zoom). Pick up a devotional booklet and set of daily prayer cards in the Narthex (or email our office if you’d like one mailed to you). Lent Worship begins Sunday March 6 and will engage us with new music, liturgy and weekly communion. Pastor Liz will host a weekly fellowship/prayer meeting on Zoom to reflect on the devotional Mondays 7-7:30 beginning Monday, March 7. The Social Action Committee will help us to live out our worship in service as we collect diapers (larger sizes most needed) for our neighbors at Department of Human Services: help us fill the barrels in the Narthex starting March 6. Come join in on this enriching journey!
