John, an Honorably Retired Minister of Word and Sacrament in the PCUSA, was and is loved by many. John was quite the scholar with degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary (PhD and BDiv), Austin College, and Mt. Pleasant High School. John served the church as a pastor, as seminary professor, as Stated Clerk of the Presbytery of the Cascades, and as chair of Commission On Ministry, etc. John loved to sing; he shared his amazing voice with the Portland Symphonic Choir, Bach Cantata Choir, and with many churches. John is survived by his brother, Steve; his daughters, Johanna and Susan, and their families; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be missed greatly. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be sent to Rose City Park Presbyterian Church or Portland Symphonic Choir. Please join us on Zoom and in-person as we celebrate his life.
This service will be in-person and on Zoom.
The in person event will follow these reopening guidelines.
Please note that the in-person event will have a fully vaccinated choir singing without masks.
Parking is very limited. Please do not park in the Grocery Outlet parking lot, as your vehicle may be towed.
