Mission Statement
We the people of Rose City Park Presbyterian Church believe in one God, with Jesus Christ as the head of the church. We believe the Holy Spirit guides us individually and corporately as we joyfully live and worship together in faith, hope, and love according to God’s word. We are an inclusive fellowship, celebrating our diversity, as we remember that each one of us has been included by God’s grace. We are a confessional & constitutional body working in ministry, with and within our denomination, toward reconciliation with God and each other. In our congregation, power is shared and decisions are collaborative. We are a covenant community whose work and worship are subject to reform and renewal. This is the foundation for our work together as a congregation, Session, and committees.
Vision Statements
• Praising God Together. Through joyful and inspirational worship and a vibrant ministry of music and the arts, we are challenged to be a welcoming and inclusive community of faith, to explore our individual spiritual paths, and to reach out to others who seek relevance and meaning.
• Learning in Community. Through a variety of programs for all ages, we will study and learn together in ways that engage and draw us into fellowship and urge us to feel the spirit’s movement instead of imagining that the work is ours alone.
• Growing in Community. Through fostering strong community relationships we discover and actualize opportunities to move us out the door into our neighborhood, bringing the community in and becoming a vital and indispensable presence in the neighborhood.
• Sustaining a Community Home. Through using our building as a physical manifestation of our mission and vision for the future, we maintain a vibrant home for our members and a welcoming center of neighborhood, cultural and ecumenical activities that build a new covenant with our community.
